An Experienced Civil Appeals and Eminent Domain Lawyer
Julia Pendery helps her clients solve their legal problems by providing them with an honest and open assessment of their legal rights and options. For more than 30 years, Julia has diligently advocated for clients throughout North Texas. She is experienced and knowledgeable about eminent domain and appellate law and enjoys taking on complex cases. She is well-known for getting default judgments overturned and frequently speaks to other lawyers on that topic.
Julia's family owns ranch land in Texas. She has guided them successfully through the eminent domain process on three separate occasions. This experience gives her great insight and empathy regarding the challenges her clients face when the government wants to take their land. She is dedicated to helping her clients obtain every penny they are entitled to.
In her appellate work, A-V rated* attorney Pendery focuses on pinpointing what was ineffective in the trial court and framing the argument in the court of appeals to achieve success. As vice-chair of two American Bar Association appellate sections (the Council of Appellate Lawyers and the Tort and Insurance Practice Section Appellate Practice Committee), she is familiar with the different rules and procedures that differentiate the 14 Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the 5th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Julia writes amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs for industry groups, businesses, and individuals who are interested in important Supreme Court cases but are not direct parties to the case.
